1. Grassroots Counterattack:#
I was born in the mid-1990s in the deep mountains of northern Guizhou, in a poor family, struggling to have enough to eat and clothes to wear. As a left-behind child, I dropped out of school after finishing primary school and started working at the age of 13. My journey began as a child laborer in Jinhua, Zhejiang, and then I lived a life of petty crime in the county town, known as "Little Guizhou," frequently visiting the police station, flirting with the shop owner's wife, and living aimlessly. By chance, I followed a local thug and, with the help of his parents, was admitted to the Music Department of Zhejiang Art College, but I was expelled due to my bad habits and fighting. I then wandered across the country, passing through Beijing, Shanghai, Xiamen, sleeping under bridges, living in caves, and barely surviving on leftover food from roadside stalls and the charity of a prostitute.
2. The Storm of the Crypto World:#
In 2013, I took over a bar on a famous trash street in Hangzhou and met a customer who became my benefactor, leading me into the crypto world. At BTCC exchange, I bought my first Bitcoin. After selling the bar in 2014, I worked full-time managing a mining farm. My iconic profile picture was taken at that time, carrying a bag of mining machine parts. In 2016, I created a mining machine trading group, and from 2017 to 2018, I reached the peak of my life, leveraging my youthful appearance (which was indeed outstanding at the time) and boldness to secure a stable supply from a woman in her thirties, achieving my first small financial goal. I then shifted to computing power platforms, earning tens of millions through "betting" agreements. My trading journey was also prosperous, with operations involving dot, uni, Pangu, okex happiness beans, Luna, advertising fees, etc., yielding substantial profits! My Weibo account was banned multiple times, but each time I managed to accumulate tens of thousands to over a hundred thousand followers.
3. Fall and Reflection: From Billions to Millions in Debt#
After switching to Twitter, I spent thousands of Ethereum, bottoming out 40 Bored Ape NFTs around 100 ETH, and then heavily invested in on-chain meme coins like inscriptions, Quark, Dogecoin, and Trump coin with hundreds of Bitcoins, only to be cut repeatedly. After Trump took office, I went long on Dogecoin around 0.3, losing ten million coins; I also bought over 200 altcoins on Binance, investing between 5,000 to several hundred thousand dollars in each. Events like the disputes between Musk and Trump, and the Iran-Israel conflict, led to consecutive losses of two to three million dollars. Now, I have only a small amount of Bitcoin left and 18 million in bank debt (with a repayment of 3 million scheduled for tomorrow). From a fortune of billions to a debt of 15 million, it took just two short years.
4. Awaiting Rebirth:#
Has my crypto career ended? No, it’s just a "temporary rest." As a first-generation "dog-skin plaster" in China's crypto circle, I have experienced both glory and downfall. What was my biggest mistake? Not exiting the circle in time after the "café incident." Now, I still have my foundation, resources, and experience, just waiting for opportunities after the market declines.
In over thirty years of life, with more than a decade of ups and downs in the crypto sea, intertwined with bitterness and madness. I, Xia Xueyi, a rural cowherd with a primary school education, started from the dust but have come this far thanks to Bitcoin. Even if I lose everything, the remnants left far exceed my initial expectations; what more could I want? What right do I have to complain about fate? I am already the luckiest person in the world, an existence that is hard to replicate in my original class.
